The Mysteries of Life

I've been contemplating life's deep inponderables:

1. Why lawn mowers cut grass but not dandelions

2. Why my family doesn't throw away empty food boxes

3. Or change the toilet paper roll

4. Why a dog who hates to take a bath, loves to fetch sticks in Lake Superior

5. Why my $26 hanging plant has never looked as nice as the day I bought it

6. Why a child has time to paint elaborate designs on her toenails but doesn't have time to clean her room.

7. How a child whose room looks like this can say with a straight face, "I did clean it."

8. Why two flower boxes planted at the same time with the same number of alternating pink and white flowers could end up like this. One thriving and mostly white, and the other skimpy with mostly pink.

Do you have any other conundrums to add to the list?

3 comments:

  1. 1) Like why kids are too tired to work, but never too tired to fight.
    2) Why empty milk cartons go back in the fridge, but full ones sit on the table.
    3) Why weeds can grow through rain, snow, sleet, hail, and drought, but vegetables need the "perfect" growing conditions.
4)why, when we can send a man to the moon, we can neither have the same number of hot dogs as buns or hot dogs that are as long as buns.
These questions could plague a mom's soul if she weren't so busy: throwing away empty containers, breaking up fights, breaking hot dog buns in half, and weeding her garden.
    Have a good one:)

  2. I know the answer to number two. It's always easier to put an empty box away because otherwise it would have to go into the trash. And if it goes into the trash, then that means you'll eventually have to take the trash OUT. And if you do that, you'll eventually have to take all the trash either to the curb or the dump. And if you do THAT, it'll lead to even more work.

That's why I do it, anyway. If you ever happen to find the answer to question one, please let me know.

  3. Interesting Logic, Billy.
There is no answer to number. It's simply rhetorical.
    Have a great day.
